Headwaters Challenge

Headwaters Challenge | Have Fun While Saving Water

Water Conservation is an important component of protecting wildlife and river habitats. Xanterra Travel Collection is challenging students and classrooms, kindergarten through 10th grade, to develop two significant ideas for a year-long water conservation program in their home and school. Our commitment to protecting the headwaters of important rivers such as the Colorado River in Rocky Mountain National Park has inspired the challenge. The winning classroom will be awarded a prize package including $200 for a classroom celebration, a souvenir memorabilia package, and certificates of recognition.Entry Forms are available from a cashier in Trail Ridge Store or online at www.xanterra.com/headwaters. Students/classrooms will need to submit two significant ideas for how they plan to save water at school or at home. They will need to document how their program was implemented and a record of the results (gallons saved, people educated, etc.). Entries are due by November 2, 2018. A committee of store and/or Park employees will select one winning student/classroom each year by November 30, 2018.
